Cruising Tweedy Blvd. in South Gate, to see the cool guys and their cars on Saturday night, went from  the park to McDonnald's. The girls who did this were (affectionately) called "Tweedy Sweeties"

I had PE right before lunch. I will forever remember standing
across the street from Belgrave, waiting for the bell to ring,
 and cross the street in stampede. How fun!.

Good friends are like angels, you don't have to see them to know they are there.
Sneaking into the gym and watching the band Sha Na Na rehearse for the movie Grease. We did get caught by the crew but the band said we could stay and watch. You guys rocked. Watching the cast of Grease play The Bad News Bears in a baseball game after filming was done at the girls softball field. Sorry Yvette, but John Travolta plays ball like a GIRL!!!

Mr. Dorand teaching Shakespeare and Science Fiction elective classes during summer school. He was the best. Toyville on Pacific between Gage and Randolph? I remember eyeing the Transformers behind the counter.
WALKING FROM GAGE JR HIGH AND STOPING AT THRIFTYS FOR CHERRY VANILLA ICECREAM ON PACIFIC BLVD Going to Hooper's Liquor Store at the corner of Hooper and Florence Ave. Drink of popularity was Old English 800. Served with a straw, and brown bag to go.

The Swedish Smorgasbord on Pacific Blvd
The Tropicuba fast food joint on Pacific that served strong cuban coffee, Disco Voladores and Batidos made for tropical fruits Ernie (don't remember his last name) who idolized David Bowie and dressed like him too The famous number 9 RTD bus that went
 to Downtown LA and beyond. I road
 that bus over a million times
That funny health food store on Florence
near the corner of Pacific. Way ahead of its time, eh?
I loved SAV-ONs more than Thrifty's though Thrifty's
had the neat sitdown restaurant, remember?
The Grinder Restaurant on Rita served a great burger and chili served in an iron skillet
Longs walks along the railroad tracks to get to school Big food fights in the cafeteria at HT Gage JHS Mr. Leveque's speed tested swat paddle at Gage

We, me, my brother, and all of our cousins, used to walk from
Bell to HP to go in the "pool."  It was really just a wading pool,
 but it was the only way to relieve the heat back then.

 The j.c,s fair at salt lake park goes back
 until I remember 1972 ? And fin fun city
 everyone loved it.

before going to track work out...for that matter, burning down a 
Doobie at the starting blocks and getting busted by Vernoy.
